This easy mate in 2 is taken from a game played on 24 Feb 2018 in the PRO League Group Stage Chess Tournament on chess.com... On his first move, White sacrifices the rook and checks by taking the Black pawn on g6. Now Black has 2 moves to answer: A. If the Black h7-pawn takes the White rook on g6, White will mate Qh8# - by sacrificing the rook, White has cleared the h-file for his queen. B. If Black moves his rook on g7 to interpose the king, White will mate Qxh7#.

This position on easy mate in 2 is taken from a game played on 16 Feb 2018 in the Kolomna Rapid 2018 Chess Tournament, Moscow... On his first move, White withdraws his knight on d6 to deliver the discovered check and to attack f7. After this, Black has the only legal move and has to move his rook on e8 to interpose the king. On the second move of White, the White rook takes the interposing piece on e8 to mate in 2.
