       Solution to Puzzle 1

1. Qh5+ g6 2. Qxc5
By moving 1. Qh5+, the White queen delivers check and attacks the Black bishop. This is a typical tactic and chess combination which may be performed by the queen at the opening phase. The double attack and queen fork with check.



       Solution to Puzzle 2

1. Qd4 Qh6 2. Qxc4
By moving 1. Qd4, White threats to checkmate by moving next 2. Qxg7#, and attacks the Black bishop on c4. Black has to leave his undefended bishop and secure the g7 square against the mate. The double attack with mating threat.
