1. Ng5+ Rxg5 2. Rf6+ Kxf6 3. Rd6#
Not so easy puzzle for chess beginners on Mate in 3, but useful one to learn... The mate combination idea is to block the opponent king with its own pieces and put it in the mating position. This checkmate is the forced mate in 3.

1. Nf7+ Kg8 [1... Rxf7? 2. Qxc8+] 2. Nh6++ Kh8 3. Qg8+ Rxg8 4. Nf7#
Not so easy puzzle for chess beginners on Mate in 4, but useful one to learn... White makes a series of moves to place the Black king at the corner. Then White blocks the Black king with its own rook. The knight mates "from outside."
