Please have a look at the above position. The Black queen already took the White left rook, and the Black bishop is attacking the White last one. Your first desire may be to save the remaining White rook, but... change your attention - you can deliver bishop mate in one move. What is going on around the Black king?.. To deliver bishop mate, move the latter on e7 (but not on c7) to checkmate in one.

This is the second typical position and checkmate pattern for bishop mate (in which the bishop is to deliver the final mating attack). Supported by the knight, the White light bishop is attacking 2 side squares around the Black king (e8, g8). The Black king still can move by diagonal on g7. Who is the main diagonal mover?.. The second White bishop moves on h6 to mate in one.
