Puzzle 103 Solution Hints
Pawn vs pawn and bishop. Endgame study by Richard Reti, White to draw... The White pawn is very close to be promoted to the queen just e7 and e8. But the Black bishop shall stop the promotion from b5, or h5 after g6 has been cleared... Hint 1: First move the king. Hint 2: Sometimes the "strange" idea to play is the only logical one to win or save the game in chess... Hint 3: At learning the solution, understand why the "strange" play is the only logical way to make a draw in this endgame.

About the Author
Richard Reti (1889-1929) was an Austrian-Hungarian (later Czechoslovakian) chess player. He is the inventor of the Reti maneuver in chess (to understand the Reti maneuver, see Endgame Study 1). Richard Reti is a famous chess composer. His older brother Rudolph Reti was a noted pianist and musical composer.
