Hint 3: Your bishop is to stay alarmed being ready to deliver skewer or checkmate.

About the Author
Leonid Kubbel (full name - Leonid Ivanovich Kubbel) is one of the most famous chess composers of all times. His name stands in the same line of the names of Samuel Loyd, Henri Rinck, Alexei Troitzky, Richard Reti. Leonid Kubbel was born in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) in 1892. He died of starvation in 1942 in the same city during the Nazi siege of Leningrad during World War II. Leonid Kubbel had 2 brothers, Arvid and Evgeny, who were also chess players. His brother Evgeny died of starvation in 1942. His first brother Arvid was executed by the NKVD in 1938. Leonid Kubbel was a chemical engineer by profession. Chess was his second life. Leonid Kubbel is the author of more than 1500 endgame studies.
