About the Author
Alexei Troitzky (1866-1942) was a Russian chess composer. He is considered to be one of the greatest chess composers on endgame study. He was awarded the title of chess master on chess composition in 1934. He died of starvation during World War II in the besieged Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) in 1942. His last chess notes on endgame study have been lost.
